In Cara’s short life she inspired and touched so many people, we want to ensure her spirit and generosity live on for others. To honor Cara and continue her legacy, we formed Cara’s Wave of Hope Foundation to help students and athletes realize their dreams.
At a young age Cara began playing multiple sports and it was clear to anyone who knew her that she was a gifted athlete. She was not only known for her skill but her humble, selfless, team-first attitude, and play. Besides her natural ability, Cara had the work ethic, drive, and dedication to be the best athlete possible and always performed with a quiet confidence that showed her mental toughness. Cara’s love and dedication to sports inspired her fellow competitors to be their best.
Cara was also a hard-working student who earned multiple academic letters. She strived to be a good student, friend, and leader. Cara was inclusive and made friends with everyone. Her kind-hearted, loving, funny personality enriched the lives of so many.
Cara’s love for the outdoors shaped her life. While skiing she always found the tightest trees or most extreme terrain. Whether she was kayaking in the river, paddle-boarding with her dogs, body surfing in the ocean, or hiking in the beautiful mountains, Cara was happiest when she was outdoors.
We miss Cara dearly and will never forget the joy we felt while watching her grow into an amazing young woman. The lives of those who were fortunate enough to know Cara will never be the same; she will forever be in our memories and hearts.
